Abstract

1,021,915. Selective signalling. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. Sept. 6, 1963 [Sept. 11, 1963], No. 35294/63. Heading G4H. [Also in Division H4] A frequency-selecting system comprises a plurality of separate sources of oscillations of different radio-frequencies, means connecting the outputs of the sources in parallel to a common output terminal, a power supply for the sources, and an electronic switching device for selectively connecting the power supply to a selected one of the sources. The arrangement is stated to be for use in frequency switching equipment for mobile radio communication systems. In one arrangement, Fig. 1, transistor oscillators 1, 11, 51 have their output circuits from voltage dividers 4 and 5, 14 and 15, and 54 and 55 connected in parallel and to the input of an amplifier 61; an electronic switch 71 ‘connecting the power supply 81 to a selected one of the oscillators 1, 11, 51 in accordance with a predetermined signal applied to the terminal 72. The device 71 may include a pair of toggles F1, F2, Fig. 3 (not shown), forming a conventional pulse counter controlled by a pulse signal C applied to terminal 72. The toggles are set in accordance with the number of pulses C applied so that a corresponding one of the AND gates G3, G4, G6, G7 is opened to supply a signal via the appropriate D.C. amplifier 23 &c. to a terminal 73, 74, 76 or 77 corresponding to the like numbered terminals on Fig. 1. In a modification of Fig. 1, each oscillator output circuit includes a diode to ensure isolation of those circuits not in use.
