[Also in Division A2] The temperature signal from a thermocouple 52, Fig. 3 , is amplified by an inverse amplifier 50 to control a saturable reacter 56 in series with a high frequency supply 46 at 10, 000 c.p.s., at up to 250 volts, to inductive or dielectric heaters (LOAD). The automatic temperature control is applied in the heating in a number of increments within zones separated by dwell zones, of meat emulsion flowing in 111-211 conduits, whereby skinless sausage is produced. The temperature is measured in the last increment of the final heating zone, and it is arranged that the inversely proportional amplifier 50 has a high gain and increases the direct current in the centre winding of the reactor 56 as a steep negative linear function of the signal received from the thermocouple 52.
