Abstract
1,046,430. Electrodes for high frequency heating. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 25, 1963 [July 28, 1962], No. 29554/63. Heading H5H. High-frequency dielectric heating of concrete 8 is performed by drilling a hole 10 and inserting therein a conductor 1 having a dish-shaped end 5 filled with metal wool 4 for making contact with the concrete, the other electrode of the arrangement comprising an annular trough 2 also filled with metal wool 4. A low loss insulator 3 spaces members 1, 2 of which the former may be the centre conductor of a coaxial cable. The central electrode may be retractable for use with varying depth holes or on a fairly flat surface, Fig. 2 (not shown). If desired two dish-shaped electrodes and two drill holes may be used.
