Abstract
1,067,653. Electrophotographic apparatus. ADDRESSOGRAPH-MULTIGRAPH CORPORATION, CHARLES BRUNING DIVISION. Sept. 4, 1964 [Sept. 5, 1963], No.36294/64. Heading G2H. The leading edge of a sheet emerging from a developing station 14 is blown upwardly into the nip of rollers 38, 40 which deliver it to rollers 34, 36 for transfer to the conveyer of a fixing oven 16. Rollers 22, 24, 38, 40 and 34, 36 are preferably covered with nap material to avoid smearing the loose powder image. Motor 54 drives fan 52 so that it delivers an upwardly directed air stream through orifice 56. Alternative forms having multiple discharge outlets Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown) are described. A paper sheet having a zinc oxide photo-conductive resin bonded layer bearing an electrostatic latent image is developed by contact with a rotating magnetic roller brush 20, loaded with synthetic thermoplastic toner powder. After fixing by fusion, the sheet emerges image side up from oven 16.
