Abstract

1,128,277. Ratchet mechanisms. KIENZLE UHRENFABRIKEN G.m.b.H. 20 April, 1967 [22 April, 1966], No. 18259/67. Heading F2Q. A ratchet mechanism converting tuning fork vibrations into rotary motion comprises a ratchet wheel 4 rotatably mounted on one arm 2 of the tuning fork, and at least one driving pawl 5 mounted on the other arm 3. A retaining pawl 7 is carried by the arm 2. Alternatively the arm 3 may carry a second driving pawl working in alternation with the pawl 5. A bearing (6) (Fig. 2, not shown) on the arm 2 adjacent the ratchet wheel supports one end of a shaft 8 carrying the ratchet wheel, the other end running in a fixed bearing (9). A pinion (11) on shaft (8) adjacent the bearing (9) meshes an output gear (12).
