Abstract
1,135,704. Torque motor. BELL AEROSPACE CORP. 19 June, 1967 [14 July, 1966], No. 28120/67. Heading H1P. In a force motor a linear input signal v force characteristic is produced by providing at least one portion of the motor with a plurality of sections of different areas of magnetically saturable material. -A frame member 11 has a pair of permanent magnets (12 and 13) attached thereto by brazing and a pair of adjustable polepieces 14 and 15. An armature 18 is pivoted at P and supported at 20. An 0-ring seal 22 closes off the armature from an hydraulic valve chamber and a flapper 21. The armature 18 is moved by energization of the coil 25. The plurality of sections may be provided on the armature (Fig. 7, not shown), the polepieces (Fig. 4, not shown) or the frame (Fig. 8, not shown).
