Abstract

1,137,981. Automatic temperature control systems. HONEYWELL Inc. March 24,1966 [April 12,1965], No.13134/66. Heading G3R. An input signal above or below a dead band causes an amplifier 30 or 31 to energize a reversing motor 14 through relays 35, 42 additional contacts on which cause a capacitor 60 or 61 to be charged. When the error is reduced and relay 35 or 42 releases the relevant capacitor is connected to the input of the other amplifier so that this other amplifier will not respond to signals, particularly overshoot signals, during the discharge time of this capacitor. The motor drives a balancing potentiometer 25, 26 and a valve 13 controlling the fuel to an oven the temperature of which is detected by a thermocouple 11 whose output at the set temperature is balanced by the voltage across a resistor 16 so that the signal from an amplifier 18 has the same sign as the deviation. Capacitors 60, 61 are charged from opposing voltage supplies 53, 56. A manual switch 22 inserts a reset network 19 to provide a signal of the same polarity as the error signal.
