Abstract
1,172,971. Secret telegraphy. NETHERLANDS, APPLIED SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH FOR STATE DEFENCE. 29 May, 1962 [31 May, 1961], No. 20697/62. Heading H4P. [Also in Division G4] A secrecy communication system operating with binary coding in which a plain message is enciphered by an interference pattern of finite length, which is determined by a number of subpatterns all of which have different numbers of elements, each sub-pattern being produced by an electronic circuit, is characterized in that for each of the sub-patterns means are provided to put the sub-pattern in a predetermined (zero) position at the occurrence of a certain determined group of elements in the enciphered message. The interference pattern may be generated by three electronic counters which count cylically in binary form up to 8, 11 and 13 respectively. Fig. 2 shows the counter which counts up to 8 and which comprises three triggers 1-3 operated through gates 12, 13 by clock pulses on line 11. The outputs XX
