Abstract
1,231,757. Band clip. R. W. CREGIER. 11 Feb., 1969, No. 7261/69. Heading E2B. A band clip comprises an anchoring and tensioning assembly 10 in combination with a flexible tension band 12 one end 28 being connected to the assembly 10 which is so arranged that the correct effective length of the band may be effected prior to the band being placed under tension. The assembly comprises a base section 16 to which the one end of the band is secured and a lever 30 pivoted at one end to the base section at 22 to swing between a first position (shown in full lines) and a second position 46. The lever has at its other end an opening 34 receiving an inwardly bent end 44 of the band 12 when the bar is in the first position, movement of the lever to the second position crimping the end 44 and bowing that end of the band over the arcuate portion 32 of the lever to tension the band. The lever is then swung to a further position (Fig. 5, not shown) where tags 26 are bent over to retain the lever. In another embodiment, (Fig. 10, not shown) the base section is substantially larger than the lever.
