Abstract

1,237,747. Caps for containers. COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE DES MATIERES PLASTIQUES PLASCO. 28 June, 1968 [30 June, 1967; 9 Feb., 1968], No. 31141/68. Heading B8T. A plastics cap 1 for a stick container comprises a plastics sealing disc 11 circularly engaging the cap inner wall between the ends of the cap to an annular rib or flange 10. In one embodiment the disc is held against rotation by a bridging member 14 integral with and extending diametrically across the flange 10 which engages in a slot 13 in an annular collar 12 on the sealing disc. The cap top portion 4 is welded or glued into the cap and is held at the correct position by vertical beads 8 1 , 8 2 . In another embodiment the generally disc-shaped sealing member is prevented from rotating by serrations at the end of an integral axially extending portion engaging corresponding serrationson an oppositely directed portion extending from the integral cap top. The annular rib may have gaps to allow pressure relief when snapping in the sealing disc.
