1,244,001. Oxidation catalysts. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 8 April, 1969 [1 May, 1968], No. 20665/68. Heading B1E. [Also in Division C2] Catalyst compositions are made by sintering a 25%-alumina/75% silica at 1000‹C until its specific surface was approximately 0.1 m2/g then impregnating as follows: (a) with zinc molybdate solution, then NH 4 OH or (b) with ammonium molybdate, the ferric nitrate; or (c) with ammonium uranate, then, after calcination and reduction with H 2 , with ammonium molybdate; or (d) with vanadium oxalate, then, after calcination, with ammonium molybdate, and finally for (a) and (b) calcining in air at 450‹C or for (c) and (d) calcining in argon at 900‹C.
