Abstract
1,247,048. Roof drainage. JOSAM MFG. CO. 25 Oct., 1968, No. 50740/68. Heading E1C. A drain for use on a flat roof has an outer dome A and an inner, domed structure S which is open at the top, and has adjustable openings in its peripheral wall to control the flow rate therethrough. The domed structure may be formed (as shown) by tapering wall portions 84 integral with an annular base plate 11 fixed to the bowl 10, the wall portions co-operating with depending tapered wall portions 85 integral with an annular top plate 85a, which is rotatable into a number of different positions where it is fixed by screwing through an annular slot (Fig. 18, not shown). The domed structure may alternatively comprise four arcuate, centrally pivoted wall portions which may or may not be linked to move in synchronism (Figs. 1-5, 6, not shown) four wall portions each made up of two arcuate sections slidable one over the other, (Fig. 8, not shown), eight straight or arcuate pivotally mounted wall portions (Figs. 7, 11 not shown), two concentric slotted sleeves of which the inner is rotatable (Fig. 9, not shown) four fixed wall portions carrying two or four flexible flaps (Figs. 12-14, not shown) or a perforated bellows arrangement fixed to a slotted upper ring (Fig. 15, not shown).
