Abstract
1,261,962. Spinneret. BRUNSWICK CORP. 29 Jan., 1969 [30 Jan., 1968], No. 5015/69. Heading B5B. [Also in Division B3] A spinneret for use in preparing a coalesced filament of plastic material comprises a plurality of discs 44 provided with passages 49 the maximum cross-section dimension of each of which is under 500 microns. The passages are T-shaped and inclined to the disc axis so that when the discs are mounted in a circular plate 46 in a duct 47 plastic material extruded through the spinneret forms a multi-strand filamentary bundle. The cross-section of the passages can be of any shape having a plurality of straight sides e.g. polygonal, rectangular, square, triangular, hexagonal or star-shaped.
