Abstract
1,267,699. Electrolytic capacitors. NORTON CO. 1 Oct., 1969, No. 48157/69. Heading H1M. [Also in Division C7] A porous metallic fibre mass for use as an anode in a solid or liquid electrolytic capacitor is made by forming a porous mass of a first material, impregnating this mass with a second material, working the composite to fibre the materials and then removing one of the materials to leave a metal fibre bundle. The metal of the final fibres may be Ta, Nb, Ti, Al, Zr, Mo, W or film forming alloys thereof. An anode lead may be welded on to the anode or a part of it may be crimped to form the anode lead followed by fusion or impregnation to eliminate leakage of electrolyte.
