Abstract
1,267,858. Holography. AGFA GEVAERT A.G. Aug.29, 1969 [Sept.19, 1968], No. 43142/69. Heading G2J. A hologram is produced by exposing a lightsensitive layer 3 to a coherent object beam 1 and a coherent reference beam 2 through an optically denser medium 6, whereby the reference beam is totally reflected at the layer 3 and produces an inhomogenous surface wave in layer 3 with which the object beam interferes to produce the hologram. The layer 3 which may be silver halide emulsion, is optically contacted with medium 6 through a liquid layer 5. Preferably layer 3 is on a support 4, e.g. glass, of higher refractive index. The object beam can be incident on either side of the recording interface.
