Abstract

1290247 Excavators LINDE AG 14 Oct 1970 [15 Oct 1969] 48716/70 Heading E1F [Also in Division Fl] Double-acting hydraulic motors 21, 32 suitable for actuating an excavator bucket are respectively connected to conventional open centre distributing valves 12, 35 which in their neutral position shown connect the delivery lines 5, 6 of pumps 1, 2 to return lines 22, 43 and at least one of lines 22, 43 has an auxiliary shut off valve 47, 52 and a branch line 48, 53 extending from a point between the shut-off valve and its associated distributing valve through a non-return valve 49, 54 to the delivery line of the other pump whereby when said at least one shut-off valve is closed and its associated distributing valve is in neutral the delivery of both pumps is available to the other distributing valve. The pumps 1, 2 which are of variable delivery also serve motors 15, 18 through distributing valves 10, 11 and motors 30, 31 through valves 33, 34; valves 10, 11, 12 being actuated by hydraulic pressure in lines 24 to 29, valves 33, 34, 35 by pressure in lines 36 to 41 and valves 47, 52 by pressure in lines 50, 55. In operation only one of each group of motors is operable at a time and only one or other of motors 21, 32 can be supplied with the combined delivery of both pumps. With valves 10, 11, 12, 33 and 34 in neutral and line 40 pressurized to actuate valve 35 pressure in a branch of line 40 gains access through a valve 51 to a line 50 to the actuator of valve 47 which is thus closed so that the delivery of pump 1 in return line 22 is directed through line 48 and valve 49 to the delivery line 6 of pump 2 which is connected by valve 35 to motor 32.
