Abstract
1300842 Moulding seals on to containers TENNECO CHEMICALS Inc 20 March 1970 [20 March 1969] 13728/70 Heading B5A [Also in Division B8] A resilient vinyl polymer sealing ring is formed on a bottle the body of which is of a rigid vinyl polymer. The ring may be formed from a vinyl plastisol. A mould 17 carries a groove 19 which is filled with the plastisol. The bottle body 1 is lowered on to the plastisol which is fused by heating to a temperature from 200 to 600 F. Gases formed, can escape through vent 25. Following this process the bottle is removed from the mould by blowing through vent 25. The mould 21 may be made of polytetrafluoroethylene and the plastisol may be heated by radio frequency.
