1306742 Coated conductors BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER’S CABLES Ltd 14 Jan 1971 [16 Jan 1970] 2290/70 Heading B2E [Also in Division H1] A method of manufacturing a high voltage insulated electric conductor comprises applying to a conductor an insulation of an ethylene polymer at least 2.5 mm. thick and crosslinking the insulation by subjecting it with high energy radiation, preferably electrons, to cause it to absorb a dose D Mrad in the range 20 to 60 or 25 to 55 Mrad at an average rate R Mrad/sec.
