Abstract

1342759 Cabinets; racks MEMOREX CORP 13 Sept 1971 [14 Sept 1970 29 April 1971] 42478/71 Headings A4B and A4H An album 10 for storing a two reel tape cassette 12 comprises a receptacle 14, Fig. 1, to receive the cassette and a housing structure 16 to which the receptacle 14 is hinged, at 32, adjacent a corner of the cassette for movement through 90 degrees between a stored position in which the housing 16 and receptacle 14 completely enclose the cassette and an access position, as shown, in which the cassette may be removed from the receptacle in a direction parallel with a groove 64 formed in the housing 16 to receive a rib of a fixed support. In one embodiment, Fig. 6, a plurality of albums 10 are received side by side in a magazine 52 defining compartments 60 each to receive an album 10, the side walls 58 of each compartment 60 having dove-tail ribs 62 which are slidably engaged with grooves 64 in the album housing 16. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 9, each housing 16 has a groove 70 on one side and a rib 72 on the opposite side for engagement in a groove 70 in an adjacent album. Alternatively, each housing 16 has a groove 70 in both sides, adjacent albums being inter-connected by separate members of double dove-tail cross section. In another embodiment, Fig. 10, the receptacle 80 and housing 96 have an integral hinge 94, the rear wall of the housing having a groove for engagement with a rib 102 on a wall plate 100. In another embodiment Figs. 16, 17 (not shown), the albums are supported on an L-shaped support (130) with flanges (132) for engaging grooves (126) in the album housing. The support (130) has a rear horizontal rib (134) for slidable engagement in a C-section wall plate (136). In another embodiment Fig. 18 (not shown), the album is mounted beneath a horizontal support.
