Abstract

1348396 Net sewing machine TALLINSKY FILIAL TSENTRALNOGO PROEKTNOKONSTRUKTORSKOGO I TEKHNOLOGICHESKOGO BJURO GLAVNOGO UPRAVLENIA RYBNOI PROMYSHLENNOSTI ZAPADNOGO BASSBINA ZAPRYBA 11 Nov 1971 [30 Nov 1970] 52366/71 Heading D1G A sewing machine for sewing together nets (a, b Fig. 12 not shown) comprises a spool carrying shuttle 3, mechanism 5 for withdrawing thread from the spool and forming a loop thereof, needle mechanism 7 for drawing the thread through the meshes or webs of the nets, mechanism 9 (Figs. 1 and 6) for expanding the loop to allow the shuttle to pass therethrough to form a stitch, means 77 for effecting intermittent feeding of the nets in the course of the sewing, means 78, 79 for securing the nets on the means 77, a guide 104 (Fig. 10) for the moving edges of the nets and carrying at its outlet a pin 107 disposed between the needle and the shuttle to support the stitch which subsequently slides off the pin and is then tightened. Connecting upper and lower shafts. The motor 2 drives an upper shaft 24, which carries a cam drum 30, by a belt 10 and gearing 72, 73. The lower shaft, which carries cam drums 14, 49 is driven from shaft 24 by a chain 74. The shuttle 3 is driven from shaft 15 by helical gears (13, 12 Fig. 2, not shown) providing a 2:1 ratio, and houses the spool (4) covered by a lid (17) prevented from rotating by an arm (18). The thread withdrawing arm 5 is carried on a shaft 21 presenting a sector 22 engaged by a further sector 23 oscillated about shaft 24 by a link 23 engaging a lever (26, Fig. 3 not shown) having a follower (29) engaging a cam groove in the drum 30. The loop presented by arm 5 is engaged by a reciprocating rod 122 to lift the thread to where it may be engaged by the hook 32 of the thread feeding mechanism 6, oscillated by mechanism 33, 34, 35, 37 connecting arm 31 to a peripheral cam groove on drum 30, to be engaged by the hooked needle 7 oscillated by linkage 42 45 47 from cam drum 49. The loop spreader mechanism 9 comprises a spreading claw 52 and a tail 53 which later removes the loop from the needle. To achieve this the parts 52, 53, are carried on an arm 50 secured to a shaft 54 which is oscillated within its slide 62 by mechanism 56 to 61 connected to a groove on drum 14, while the slide 62 is reciprocated, to move the shaft 54 axially, by a cam groove in the face of pinion 13 and linkage 63 to 67 (Fig. 6). Work feeding, starting anl stopping. The nets are held between pins 80 on brackets 78, 79 carried on a slide 77. Bracket 78 is adjustable by screw 81 to tension the nets. The slide 77 is moved stepwise by the engagement of its rack 84 with a pinion 82 carried on a shaft (83, Fig. 8 not shown) rotated stepwise through a crank driven one way clutch (85) connected to cam drum 49 by mechanism including means 99 by which the magnitude of the steps can be adjusted to the mesh size of the nets being linked together. At the completion of the feeding motion of the rack a screw (115 Fig. 7 not shown) adjustably carried in bracket 78 engages a lever (108) to operate a micro-switch (116) to stop the motor, and cause an abutment 113 to enter the needle guide to stop the latter in a raised position. A handle (121) is provided to return the work slide to the starting position.
