Abstract

1349466 Vibratory dryer; heating granular material LEYBOLD-HERAEUS-VERWALTUNG GmbH 28 Sept 1971 [2 Oct 1970] 45229/71 Headings F4G and F4U In apparatus for the heat treatment, e.g. vacuum drying of powders or granules, the material is fed into a container 1, in which are disposed a plurality of vibrating annular surfaces 8 arranged in cascade, the temperature of each surface, or groups of surfaces being different and the vibration of each surface, or groups of surfaces, being of different amplitudes so that the material travels at different speeds through the apparatus. The vibration may be provided by several vibratory drives, or by a single drive 7 located either adjacent the centre of the cascade, so that the upper and lower halves of the cascade vibrate with different amplitudes, or located at the centre of gravity of the cascade, with adjustable masses fixed to either half of the cascade to provide the required respective magnitudes of vibration. The base 9 of each annular surface may be doublewalled, and heated by steam, fed individually to each surface through a control valve, or cooling gas may be fed to nozzles in the base of each surface to agitate the material. Alternatively the material may be agitated by rotary vanes, or by providing gravity shoots on each, or between adjacent, annular surfaces. When used for vacuum drying, e.g. plastics, a pump 5 is used to generate the required vacuum.

DEVICE FOR CONTINUOUS VOLKANIZATION OF LONG-DIMENSIONAL PRODUCTS IN A PSE-DRIVED LAYER 1 The invention relates to the vulcanization (polymerization) field of long products in a fluidized bed and can be used for heat treatment of rubberized fabric and other polymeric materials. 5A well-known device for continuous vulcanization of long products in a fluidized bed, containing a vertical chamber filled with granular coolant immersed in the last heaters and an air duct for supplying a fluidizing agent associated with the inlet section of the chamber. However, in such a device, the fluidizing fluidity is not evenly distributed Layer height of the camera. It has only a narrow area of stable fluidization regime, therefore, the quality of heat treatment of products is insufficient. In order to expand the stable regime of fluidization in the proposed device 20, the inlet section of the chamber is made with a U-shaped longitudinal section, edged towards the top of the product, and connected with air duct by means of a slit neck and a diffuser. On the longitudinal walls 25 of the chamber, vortex converters are mounted, made in the form of inclined plates arranged in rows along the movement of the product with alternating direction of inclination. FIG. 1 shows the described device, a longitudinal section; pas figs. 2 is a view of the arrow A in FIG. 1 ^^ llzdelie conventionally not shown). The device contains a vertical chamber 1 filled with granular inert coolant 2, horizontal tubular electric heaters 3, an air duct 4 for supplying a fluidizing agent and a separation chamber 5. The outlet section of chamber 1 is made with a U-shaped longitudinal section facing the top towards the supply of the product being processed, and by means of a narrow 11 slit neck 6 and diffuser 7 is connected to the duct 4. On the longitudinal walls of the chamber 1 are mounted eddy 8, made in the form of inclined plates (see Fig. 2), arranged in rows along the movement of the product with alternating directions of inclination, for example, in a checkerboard pattern. The device is operated as follows. The workpiece 9, for example cut fabric, is continuously fed through the center of the chamber 1 at the bottom and retracted from the top. A fluidizing agent, such as heated gas, is supplied to the chamber through an air duct, the speed of which in slit neck 6 is sufficient to prevent granular heat carrier 2 from spilling out from chamber 1. Heat carrier 2 is intensively mixed and transfers heat from the ventilating gas and fabric heaters.
