Abstract
1359927 Raising/lowering magnetic heads SOC INDUSTRIELLE HONEYWELL BULL 18 May 1972 [25 May 1971] 23518/72 Heading G5R In a magnetic head raising/lowering system wherein a plurality of spindles are rotatable to control the positions of a corresponding plurality of heads, the spindles are interlinked so that the heads are raised/lowered in unison. In the arrangement described, the rotation of a cam disc (5, Fig. 1, not shown) bearing a ramp 6 causes a follower 7 to be elevated, and an arm 8 and a spindle 12 to be rotated. Engagement surfaces 29, 30, 33, 34, 31, 32 on arm 8 and further arms 9, 10, 11 then co-operate to cause further spindles 13, 14, 15 to rotate as indicated, and as a result pressure is simultaneously applied by the ends 21-24, Fig. 3, of four helical springs (17-20, Fig. 1) to cause four heads 25 to move in unison towards a record 28.
