Abstract
1421370 Automatic phase control in active filters FUJITSU Ltd 13 June 1973 [14 June 1972] 28242/73 Headings H3A and H3U A bandpass filter comprises: a first frequency changer FCV1 having a first input A to which an input signal may be applied; a second frequency changer FCV2 having an output F from which a filtered signal may be derived; a bandpass filter BPF connected between the output of the first frequency changer and a first input of the second; a phase detector PD connected to produce a control signal dependent on the phase difference between the input and output signals of filter BPF; a voltage controlled oscillator VCO controlled by the control signal so as to supply second input signals to the two frequency changers; and a phase shifter DL interposed between the voltage controlled oscillator and one of the second inputs. The phase shifter may produce a phase shift such that the output at F is in phase with the input at A or, if the output includes a circuit CB introducing delay, such that the output at I is in phase with the input. The circuit DL may be a delay line, a helical filter or an LC circuit. Figs. 3a, 3b (not shown) give details of the various circuits. The two frequency changers are diode bridge type, with transistor input and output stages, as is the phase detector. The band pass filter may be a helical filter, and the oscillator may be a transistorized Hartley oscillator tuned by a variable capacity diode.
