Abstract
1442916 Gas extraction pipe KRAFTWERK UNION AG 18 June 1974 [19 June 1973] 27043/74 Heading F2P [Also in Division G1] A flexible gas extraction pipe comprises a polytetrafluoroethylene tube surrounded by an earthed metal casing tube which may be constituted by a screening hose made from a metal fabric. Apparatus for monitoring the radioactivity of gases includes one or more gas extraction pipes connected to a common monitoring station. The earthed metal casing tube discharges electrostatic charges occuring on the PTFE tube thus preventing the deposit of radio-active substances on the inner wall of the pipe. Such gas extraction pipes may have an internal diameter of 9 mm. and an external diameter of 12 mm.
