1447283 Developing process AUSTRALIA DEPARTMENT OF Mfg INDUSTRY 25 Sept 1973 [28 Sept 1972] 44960/73 Heading G2H In a method of developing an electrical image, the image during development is subjected to a pulsating field. This field continuously breaks the forces holding the developer particles for the surface to keep the particles in motion thus promoting a more uniform and heavy settlement of particles in the image areas under the influence of the image field. The developer may comprise dry toner and carrier particles or toner particles dispersed in an insulating liquid. The pulsating fields may be A.C. or D.C. and preferably has a short rise time followed by a slower decay. The development may be effected by passing the image bearing surface between rollers arranged to have the pulsating field at the nip thereof. A suitable circuit for producing the field is described. Suitable imaging surfaces, developers, voltages and pulse frequencies are also given.
