1447885 Optical borosilicate glass JENAER GLASWERK SCHOTT & GEN VEB 15 Nov 1973 [23 Nov 1972] 53045/73 Heading C1M An optical borosilicate glass is free of ZrO 2 and comprises, in weight per cent: BaO 35-56; B 2 O 3 14-48; CdO 1-2À5; SiO 2 2-19; the balance, if any, consisting of other compatible constituents. Such further constituents may comprise up to 13% K 2 O, up to 10% Na 2 O, up to 18% CaO, up to 20% MgO, up to 35% ZnO, up to 8% Al 2 O 3 , up to 20% La 2 O 3 , and/or up to 45% PbO, the above oxides other than PbO not exceeding 40% in total. Glasses exemplified have a refractive index (N e ) of 1À625-1À729 and an AbbÚ number (V e ) of 39À5-60À8.
