1457347 Yeast AJINOMOTO CO Inc 12 Feb 1974 [14 Feb 1973] 06418/74 Heading C6F Yeast is cultivated in an acidic or neutral aqueous culture medium containing ions of at least one alkanoic acid having 2-9 carbon atoms as the major carbon source, a nitrogen source, inorganic salts and minor organic nutrients. Preferred are propionate and n-butyrate ions as the carbon source and saccharomyces, pichia, candida, hansenula, debaryomyces, trichosporon, endomycopsis and kluyveromyces as the yeast genera. Culturing is preferably performed at 25-34C.
