Abstract

146,549. Rodriguez, M. B. Jan. 4, 1919. Fixed-abutment type; working-fluid supply.- In a rotary internal-combustion engine of the outwardly-sliding vane type wherein admission and exhaust is effected by grooves in the side of the rotor 2 registering with a series of ports, a compressed charge is added before ignition to the ordinary charge drawn from the carburettor. The end 5 of the diametrical vane draws in behind it, by means of a groove 21 registering with the carburettor pipe 12, a charge which is subsequently compressed by the end 10 through grooves 24, 25 and a pipe 26 into an external chamber 15. The end 10 passing the pipe 12 draws in a charge through the groove 6, and later a compressed charge from the chamber 15 is admitted behind the end 10 through the groove 9. After ignition by the plug 7, the gases are expelled through a groove 18 and a pipe 20.
