1466898 Optical waveguides; electrophotographic copiers HOECHST AG 18 Nov 1974 [19 Nov 1973] 49898/74 Headings G2A and G2J In a copying apparatus, e.g. by electrophotography, in which an original 1 which is stationary, is scanned in synchronization with the relative movement of the original and the recording material 31, light is directed to the area being scanned via at least one optical waveguide device 8, 8′ from a source (15, 15′), see Fig. 3a (not shown). The device 8, 8′ comprises fibre optic bundles which are rigidly mounted in a frame 23, 24 rotatable about an axis at its base, a mirror 21 being rotatable about the same axis. In a modification, Fig. 1 (not shown) two groups of mirrors (2) and (3, 4) are moved with a fibre optic bundle 8 longitudinally of the surface of the original 1.
