Abstract
1516652 Bale handling apparatus SPERRY RAND CORP 6 Aug 1975 [19 Aug 1974] 32829/75 Heading B8H A bale handling apparatus comprises bale supporting tines 80 mounted on a generally vertical supporting structure 26, 30 attachable to the rear of a tractor 12 and bale discharging arrangement 18 operably associated with the structure 26, 30. The vertical supporting structure comprises lateral box and channel sections 26, 30 interconnected at their bases by a channel member 24 notched to adjustably receive a pair of tines 80 bolted thereto, at their mid-length by a member 34 and at their tops by a rotatable shaft to which the arrangement 18 is rigidly secured. The arrangement 18 comprises a channel 44 terminating in a bale engaging cross plate 46 and pivotable with its shaft in bearings 42 to discharge a bale from the tines 80 upon retraction of an hydraulic ram 54 extending between the member 34 and an arm 48 secured to said shaft. The bale handling apparatus is mounted on the tractor 12 through a pivoted linkage 64 and a ram 72 by which the position of the apparatus is varied relative to the tractor. Both rams 54 and 72 are supplied with hydraulic fluid from the tractor hydraulic system.
