Abstract
1517126 Mixing moulding sand TAIYO CHUKI CO Ltd 2 March 1977 8820/77 Heading B1C Mixing apparatus for the preparation of moulding sand comprises a sand storage container 1′, a mixing vessel 4 having a mechanical stirrer 5, a sand measurement bin 1″ situated between the storage container and the mixing vessel and means in the form of fluid actuated dampers 15, 16 for controlling the supply of sand from the container 1′ to the bin 1″ and from the bin to the mixing vessel 4. Hardening agent is supplied from a reservoir 6 through a measuring cylinder 7 to the mixing vessel and an additives container 2 has feed means in the form of a screw 3 to supply additives to the mixing vessel. Time control means is provided for effecting a sequential supply of constituents and -operation of theapparatus commencing with initiating an initial supply and mixing of sand only in the mixing vessel to clean the vessel interior from the residue of a preceding charge and then effecting the sequential supply of additive and hardening agent and the final mixing thereof with the sand. The moulding sand mixture is finally discharged from the mixing vessel on to conveying means 19.
