Abstract

1522221 Temperature variable resistors DEUTSCHE GOLD-UND SILBER-SCHEIDEANSTALT 19 Feb 1976 [22 Feb 1975] 6564/76 Heading H1K A thermometer resistance element which has a temperature coefficient of resistance of at least 3À85 Î 10-3 degr.-1 between 0 C. and 100 C., consists of a layer of Pt on an insulating substrate, the material of which has a higher coefficient of expansion than that of Pt between 0 C. and 1,000 C. Suitable substrate materials are MgO or heat-resistant nickel alloys coated with MgO, Al 2 O 3 , or a silicate glass. The Pt layer may be formed by vacuum evaporation or by cathode sputtering in an oxygen-containing atmosphere.
