Abstract
1525829 Pipette EPPENDORF GERATEBAU NETHELER & HINZ GmbH 15 Oct 1976 [5 Nov 1975] 42960/76 Heading B1X A pipette device includes a casing 2, an actuating member 10 projecting from an upper end of the casing and adapted to be depressed into the casing against biasing spring 12, the actuating member being connected to a piston-cylinder assembly within the casing, the piston adapted to displace an air volume and being connected to an aperture of a connector portion for mounting slip-on pipette tip members open at their upper and lower ends, whereby an excess lift movement of the actuating member serves to actuate an ejector device, and the piston, piston rod or actuating member includes at least one stop defining an abutment means 24, 25 which includes releasable detent means 18 adapted to be released by a temporarily increased actuating pressure on the actuating member. The connector portion may be in the form of a cone-shaped adapter. In one embodiment, the releasable detent means comprise a separable magnetic assembly of a pair of magnetic members, one being secured to the casing and the other at the abutment means. The device enables pipetting apertures and ejection of the tip to be operated by one hand in a single position.
