1528886 Measurement during metal casting CONCAST AG 14 April 1977 [15 April 1976] 15616/77 Heading G1A An apparatus for the continuous casing of metals, e.g. steel, comprises an oscillating continuous casting mould 1, a measuring instrument 4, 5, e.g. a radiometre instrument, mounted to oscillate with the mould for producing a signal representative of the state of fill of the mould, a contact less motion pick-up 12 e.g. of he inductive or capacitive type, arranged between the mould or a part movable therewith and a fixed part 11 for producing an output signal representative of the stroke of the mould and means for summing the two signals such as to produce a signal representative of the true state of fill of the mould.
