Abstract
1529428 Texturising yarns HEBERLEIN MASCHINENFABRIK AG 15 July 1977 [3 Aug 1976] 29780/77 Heading D1F A process for texturising (looping and convoluting) yarn of synthetic continuous filaments and/or natural fibres, by passage thereof through a whirling chamber fed with pressure fluid e.g. compressed air, is immediately preceded by a yarn moistening treatment wherein the liquid e.g. water, takeup and retention is sufficient only to ensure improved quality and speed of texturising thus eliminating problems arising from excess liquid retained in the final yarn and distributed in fluid jet and associated apparatus. In the operation of the apparatus shown, untreated yarns 6 and 7 (which are to be simultaneously texturised) are fed by delivery devices 4 and 5 with overfeed, over a deviation pin 8, into and through a fluid nozzle 2 the whirling chamber of which is supplied with compressed air through inclined bores as at 3. In the approach run to nozzle 2 and under guidance of pins 20, 21, the yarns pass centrally over bores 17, 18, in the surface 16 of (or guide grooves in) a hollow plug 13 fitting tightly and sealably (as by means of ring 26) in a holder 11 which is connected by a tube 12 with a container 13 of water at a level 23 to limit the pressure of water withdrawn from channel 24 through bores 17, 18, by suction due to passage of the yarns thereover. The plug 15 is of non corrosive material and may be made wear-resistant e.g. by chromium plating or by tempering.
