Abstract

171,089. Fisher, G. O. Nov. 5, 1920, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Breech actions, sliding breech-block; firing- appliances.-Trigger mechanism adjustable for single-shot and continuous firing, comprises a trigger 15, a sear 12, a sear-actuating pawl 19 pivoted on the trigger, and a tripping-lever 22 adapted, when adjusted for single-shot firing, to engage the pawl and disengage it from the sear towards the end of the trigger pull. The pawl is in the form of a bell-crank lever, one arm 20 oi which extends under the end of the tripping- lever 22, the rear end of which is free to rise when the mechanism is set for continuous firing. The tripping-lever 22 is pivoted on the trigger pivot 16, and is adapted to be raised at the front, to bring its rear end into the pawl-tripping or single-shot position, by a rotary cut-away bolt 28 operated by an external lever. The tripping- lever is also adapted to be turned by a lug 25 on the cartridge lifter so that when the magazine is empty, the pawl is tripped and the breech-bolt 10 is held in the rear position by the sear.
