Abstract
Insulation for high temperature apparatus comprises panels of modular sizes in which strips 10 of ceramic fibre blanket are held in a stack by rods or pins 14 passing through the strips 10 so that the main faces of the panels are formed predominantly by the fibre ends, there being carried by pins 14 extending into the stack offset brackets 12 so that adjacent panels A, B can abut. The panels may overlie normal blanket type insulation 17.
