Abstract

Compounds of the formula wherein: R1, R2, R3, R4, R6, and R7 are independently hydrogen or lower alkyl. R5 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, rad alkanoyl having 1 to 6 carbon atoms. Y is OH or OM wherein M is a pharmaceutically acceptable cation, and n is an integer from 0 to 1, and X1 and X2 are independently (CR8R9)m wherein R8 and R9 are independently hydrogen or lower alkyl and m is an integer from 1 to 5 are potent angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors and possess antihypertensive activity.
