Abstract
An apparatus for recording a video signal is described which sequentially forms slant tracks on a recording tape (1). In the recording mode, the tape is moved at a specified tape speed (1/m Sn) different from the standard tape speed Sn used for reproduction. A recording head is mounted on a movable member which is deflected in a direction perpendicular to the slant track (T).
?>A circuit controls the position of the recording head such that the inclination of the track (T) formed by the recording head at the specified tape speed (1/m Sn) is made equal to that of the slant track (T) formed at the standard tape speed (Sn).
