Abstract
1,041,132. Jet-propelled aircraft. A. R. MOYNET and L. M. TIELES. May 27, 1964 [June 4, 1963], No. 21878/64. Heading B7G. [Also in Division F2] An aircraft comprises at the forward end of the fuselage 11 (Fig. 1, not shown) a turbo-prop power plant 12, 13 and at the rear end a turbojet engine 14 discharging into a nozzle 18 which may be adapted for jet-deflection. The air intake to engine 14 comprises a cowl 19 surrounding the upper part of the rear fuselage to form a crescent-shaped air intake which draws boundary layer air from the fuselage surface. The engine 14 may be below the tailplane as shown or above it. The thrust axes are so inclined that the stopping of either engine will not result in sudden changes in longitudinal trim.
