Abstract
1,054,762. Inverting. LICENTIA PATENTVERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. July 4, 1963 [July 4, 1962], No. 26514/63. Heading H2F. A bridge inverter of controllable semiconductor rectifiers 11, 12, 21, 22 feeds a load which includes a resonant circuit 3, 4, 5, whose resonant frequency is less than half the frequency of firing pulses to the rectifiers to ensure proper shuttin off of the conductive rectifiers on commutation. The output frequency is half the frequency of the firing pulses. With 11 and 12 conductive the voltage of A relative to B rises and falls towards zero. Before reaching zero however the rectifiers 21, 22 are fired and the small voltage remaining across AB is applied to the rectifiers 11 and 12 to shut these off. The relationship between the firing pulse frequency and the natural frequency of the resonant circuit must be such that this small voltage is sufficient to effect proper commutation. An inductor 2 is included in the D.C. lines. The input D.C. may be derived from a rectifier circuit. The bridge arms may comprise series and/or parallel rectifier elements, and they may be provided with RC circuits for voltage protection.
