Abstract
1,059,265. Dispensing liquids by gaseous pressure. LABORATOIRES CHIBRIT. Sept. 25, 1963 [Sept. 27, 1962], No. 37653/63. Heading F1R. Substances which can only be mixed immediately before use are stored separately in a storage container B and a dispensing container A, which are interconnected for mixing in container A, a jet or spray head D, Fig. 4 (not shown) being used on the latter for dispensing. Liquid L is stored under a gas pressure higher than the dispensing pressure in container B which has a female “aerosol” type valve 2. The other substance, which may be a solid in liquid suspension, is stored in under a gas pressure lower than the dispensing pressure in container A having a male “aerosol” type valve. Containers B and A are interconnected as shown pressure being applied to container B to allow liquid to be expelled by the gas in container B. When all liquid L is mixed in container A the gas pressures are equalized at the initial dispensing pressure. The containers may be of glass and sheathed in a plastic. One of the container closures may be a needle, formed with an axial duct controlled by a valve, which is adopted to penetrate a diaphragm closure on the other member. Dispensing containers which have been discharged may be recharged by further sets of storage chambers at least one of which is charged with gas at a pressure higher than the initial dispensing pressure. The substances to be mixed may be in one container: a quaternary ammonium compound, an antibiotic, a lyophilized vaccine prepared from at least two influenza viruses comprising the viruses A1, A2, B and para influenzae under nitrogen pressure and in the other container a physiological salt solution or a solution of quaternary ammonium compound.
