Abstract
1,061,168. Electric cells. SOC. DES ACCUMULATEURS FIXES ET DE TRACTION. July 13, 1964 [Aug. 2, 1963; June 19, 1964], No. 28832/64. Heading H1B. An electric cell having spirally wound electrodes wound on a mandrel and fitted into a tubular container has a protecting sheet of a soft adhesive material extending .along one electrode for a length equal to the depth of slot in the mandrel and at least half a turn therearound. The protecting sheet prevents any active material cracking off from shortcircuiting the cell. A similar protecting sheet may also be used on the outer ends of the electrodes.
