Abstract
1,084,776. Wall and like structures. DONN PRODUCTS Inc. Dec. 15, 1964, No.51071/64. Heading E1W. A resilient furring strip for supporting wall and like panel members in a manner to absorb forces generated by sound waves comprises a pair of planar web portions 11, 12 disposed in parallel planes and connected by a stepped portion 19 including an intermediate planar web 20 and flanges 21, 22 integral with the portions 11, 12 respectively, the intermediate planar portion 20 being connected to the flanges 21, 22 at spaced points along its edges, the connecting points 27 along one edge being staggered in relation to the connecting points 28 along its other edge. The portion 20 may be integral with the flanges 21, 22 and may be expanded into sinuous or wave form. Apertures 29 in the web 12 are provided for receiving securing devices for connecting the strips to wall studs.
