Abstract
A rubber composition comprises (a) from 10 to 30 parts of a rubbery copolymer of butadiene-1,3 and acrylonitrile; (b) from 20 to 50 parts of a rubbery copolymer of butadiene-1,3 and styrene extended with a petroleum based rubber processing oil; and (c) from 20 to 60 parts of a rubbery cis 1,4 polybutadiene. By rubbery cis 1,4 polybutadiene is meant a polymer of butadiene or a copolymer containing a major proportion of butadiene at least 85% of the butadiene units in both cases being in cis-1,4 configuration. The composition may also contain a reinforcing filler when it may be used as a pneumatic tyre tread composition. The usual compounding and curing agents may be present and the composition may be cured.
