Abstract
1,105,006. Unpackaging; endless conveyers. GEB. GRUN K.G. (FIRMA). 27 Oct., 1966 No. 48310/66. Headings B8A and B8C. An apparatus for slitting filled bags and discharging the contents comprises a conveyer which feeds the bags over a rotating knife to slit one side from top to bottom, pressure being applied from above to open the slit and beaters or vibrators assisting the discharge. The bags are engaged at opposite sides by spikes 2 on spaced conveyer chains 1 and drawn along rails 7 over the knife 8. A rail 12 bends the bag to open the slit and beaters 16 ensure release of the contents. Finally, wheels 19 projecting above the spikes remove the empty bags for discharge down a shoot 21. The material is received in a hopper 20. The knife and rails may be adjustable for various bag sizes.
