Abstract
1,114,260. Valves. REXALL DRUG & CHEMICAL CO. 15 June, 1965 [15 June, 1964], No. 25298/65. Heading F2V. [Also in Division G3] Means for establishing a plurality of pressure levels consists of a flow control valve 61 between conduits 60, 62, spring-closed and opened spooltype regulating-valves 1 and 31, respectively. The pressure P1 downstream of the valve 61 is a reference pressure whilst the upstream pressure P1a is the first pressure level; these pressures are applied across the spool 2 of valve 1. Pressure P1 acts through a restriction 67 to assist the loading spring 3 to keep valve 1 closed until the pressure P1a is high enough to open the valve and connect conduit 60 to a pipe 12 from which lead connections 13, 14, in the former of which is established the second pressure level P2 whilst the pressure in the latter acts on the spool 32 of valve 31 in concert with the loading spring 33 to oppose the reference pressure P1 applied to the other end of the spool 32 via a restriction 68. The outlet conduit 41a from 31 contains a relief valve 41b to establish a third pressure level P3; valve 31 closes when the reference pressure P1 exceeds that in a line 17 leading from connection 14 which contains a check valve 15. The line 17 also constitutes the inlet to valve 31.
