Oxidized ferrochromium is used as one of the raw materials in the preparation of acidic, basic or neutral refractories. Specified refractories are quartzite, clay, grog, pyrophyllite, zircon, sillimanite, fused alumina, chrome, chromia, magnesite clinker, wholly or partially stabilized dolomite clinker or calcined dunite. Optionals are sericite, porcelain, Na 2 SiO 3 , lignin extract, dextrin, molasses, bentonite, acidic A1 phosphate, alumina cement, Na alkyl benzene SO 3 , bittern, tar and pitch.
