Abstract
1,136,660. Cooling alternator rotor end windings. GANZ VILLAMOSSAGI MœVEK. 19 Dec., 1966 [5 Feb., 19661, No. 56775/66. Heading H2A. End windings at each end of an alternator rotor body 1 are positioned between insulating spacers 10, 101 mounted respectively on a centring tube 5 and in a retaining ring 3 fixed to the body, and coolant, e.g. gas flows through inlet and outlet. Passages 13, 15 in the centring tube 5 and associated spacer 10, channels defined by the spacers and adjacent end windings, and transverse ducts in the end winding. As shown, the ducts 7 are in the winding conductors 6, and the coolant enters and leaves the passages via axial ducts 12, 16 in the tube 5 and is exhausted by a fan 11 through bores 17 in a centring ring 4.
