Abstract
1,138,064. Band clamps. BELL’S ASBESTOS & ENG. Ltd. 10 Nov., 1966 [25 Aug., 1965], No. 36475/65. Heading E2B. A band clamp having worm or T-bolt adjustment means 1 is corrugated as at 6 so that radial pressure is maintained. Almost the whole of the band may be corrugated, as shown, or the band may have a number of separate series of corrugations. The corrugated portions may be integral with the rest of the band or may be of spring steel and welded or rivetted to flat portions of stainless steel. A stainless steel or aluminium bedding band 7 is provided and may be welded at 9 to the main band, and an asbestos or reinforced-rubber tape may be arranged between the main and bedding bands.
